We are a German-Finnish family (Moriz & Anne with 3 children), excited to welcome you to our cozy tiny house rental cottages nestled in the stunning Serra de São Mamede Natural Park in Portugal. Located near Carreiras, just 10 minutes from Portalegre, our haven is perfect for those seeking peace, nature, and a slower pace of life. Here, you can wake up to the sweet melodies of birds singing and watch them soar in their natural habitat. Whether you're a seasoned birdwatcher or simply love the gentle rhythm of nature, our home offers the perfect escape for couples or families.
Bonding with Nature and Horses
As you stay with us, you can bond with our gentle horses or take a peaceful hike along the scenic trails right here on our farm. Our trails are the perfect way to reconnect with nature, passing through lush landscapes that reveal the true essence of the Alentejo region, often referred to as the "lungs of Alentejo" for its fresh, clean air and expansive green spaces.

The Serra de São Mamede is a place of breathtaking natural beauty, known for its diverse wildlife, including rare birds and unique plant species. The park is home to picturesque valleys, rugged mountain ranges, and peaceful oak forests, making it a dream location for hiking, birdwatching, and photography. Anne, an ultrarunner, has found a new passion for bird photography here, inspired by the incredible variety of species in the park.
How to Get Here
We are just 10 minutes from Portalegre, which makes reaching us easy and stress-free. If you are flying in, the nearest airports are Lisbon and Badajoz. From Lisbon, it's about a 2-hour drive, and from Badajoz, around 1 hour and 30 minutes. You’ll be heading to Monte Frei Álvaro do Baixo, near Carreiras, where we will be ready to welcome you!
A Family with a Passion for the Land
Until 2021, we lived on a small farm in Germany with our children, where we combined our love for the land with youth welfare work and running local market retail stores. Our passion for traveling and meeting new people has inspired us to settle here, where we now cultivate our own herbs and embrace a vegan lifestyle.
